The service industry in the United States is picking up, but employment is flashing red lights. The price index has reached a new high in two years.
Jingtong Finance APP learned that the US service industry activity returned to expansion in October. Data released by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) on Wednesday showed that the service industry PMI for October was 52.4%, higher than September's 50%, and has been above the boom-bust line for the eighth consecutive month, indicating a slight recovery in service industry economic activity. Steve Miller, chairman of the ISM Services Survey Committee, said that this month's data indicates that the economy is still in a mild expansion, although the trend is still below the average level of the past few years.
