The prices of many memory modules started to rise significantly in September and have continued to rise to this day. Some merchants in Shenzhen Huaqiangbei have stated that they could already feel the trend of rising prices for all memory chips since August, which also affected the prices of mobile flash memory, causing prices to fluctuate daily and overall increase. In August, a 4GB DDR4 memory module could be priced as low as below 90 yuan, but within a month, the price increased to 100 yuan to 130 yuan. The price increase became more intense starting from October. According to the quoted prices from merchants in Huaqiangbei, by the end of September, the price of a 16GB DDR4 memory module was over 200 yuan, and the price of a 16GB DDR5 module was around 390 yuan. Currently, on mainstream e-commerce platforms, some popular 16GB DDR4 memory module prices range from 350 yuan to 520 yuan, and the price of a 16GB DDR5 module has reached around 600 yuan. Industry insiders believe that the situation of supply shortage will be difficult to reverse in the short term.
