Supreme People's Procuratorate: In the first three quarters of this year, a total of 7,316 people were prosecuted for crimes endangering food safety.

The Supreme People's Procuratorate has released 7 typical cases of prosecuting agencies punishing crimes that endanger food and drug safety in accordance with the law, involving health products, beef, Chinese medicine, and other food and drugs closely related to people's lives, and disclosed the data of relevant cases handled by the prosecuting agencies in the first 9 months of this year. From January to September 2025, the national prosecuting agencies approved the arrest of 1693 people in 1025 cases of crimes endangering food safety, and prosecuted 7316 people in 3762 cases; approved the arrest of 443 people in 279 cases of crimes endangering drug safety, and prosecuted 2668 people in 1354 cases. The prosecuting agencies have fully performed their legal supervision functions, recommending that administrative law enforcement agencies transfer 495 people in 471 cases suspected of producing and selling counterfeit goods crimes, and supervising investigative agencies to file cases against 213 people in 182 cases.
