"Fake bomb" threat forces Washington Reagan Airport to temporarily halt flights

On the 4th, there was a bomb threat on a flight at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., causing a temporary suspension of flights. After a search by the FBI, no dangerous items were found. U.S. Transportation Secretary Buttigieg and Reagan National Airport announced on social media that United Airlines flight 512 from Houston to Washington received a bomb threat. After the flight landed safely at Reagan National Airport around 11:30 a.m., law enforcement evacuated all passengers and conducted a thorough search of the aircraft. Once the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the safety, the airport resumed operations. The runway was reopened at 12:50 p.m. United Airlines stated to the media that the flight in question carried a total of 89 passengers and 6 crew members.
