Australia's internet regulatory agency on Wednesday expanded its globally pioneering ban on social media for teenagers, including Reddit and video streaming platform Kick, and stated that if the primary purpose of more websites is to facilitate online social interactions, they may also be included. Australia will become the first country to impose a maximum fine of 49.5 million Australian dollars on social media companies that fail to take reasonable measures to prevent users under the age of 16. The law will come into effect on December 10th.
