In the first three quarters of 2025, China's service trade steadily increased, with the total volume of service imports and exports reaching 5936.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.6%. Among them, exports were 2601.5 billion yuan, an increase of 14.4%; imports were 3334.7 billion yuan, an increase of 2.8%; and the service trade deficit was 733.2 billion yuan, a decrease of 238.24 billion yuan compared to the same period last year. The main characteristics are as follows: knowledge-intensive service trade maintained growth. In the first three quarters, the import and export of knowledge-intensive services reached 2270.59 billion yuan, an increase of 6.4%. Among them, the import and export of other commercial services, telecommunications, computer and information services were 966.38 billion yuan and 794.06 billion yuan, with growth rates of 3.9% and 10.6% respectively. The export of knowledge-intensive services was 1317.76 billion yuan, an increase of 9.2%; the import of knowledge-intensive services was 952.83 billion yuan, an increase of 2.8%; with a surplus of 364.93 billion yuan, an increase of 85.73 billion yuan compared to the same period last year. The export of travel services grew rapidly. In the first three quarters, the travel services grew rapidly, with imports and exports reaching 1637.25 billion yuan, an increase of 8.8%. Among them, exports increased by 54.4% and imports increased by 2.7%.
