Google announced on November 3 that they are expanding the "AI Education Accelerator" program in partnership with Florida State University and Arkansas to provide free AI training and skills certification for students and professionals across the United States. Florida State University will be the first to launch the "Google People Management Essentials" certificate course, an eight-hour self-study course that utilizes AI tools such as Gemini and NotebookLM to train leadership skills such as goal setting, project planning, and communication management. At the same time, the Arkansas Department of Commerce is collaborating with Google to offer free online training to residents above the age of 18, covering five-hour AI modules including Google AI Essentials and Prompting Essentials to teach keyword engineering and the use of AI. Residents can also obtain popular skills certificates in cybersecurity, data analysis, IT support, digital marketing, and more for free. Similar partnerships are spreading to multiple states, with Oklahoma, Tennessee, Maryland, and North Carolina all launching corresponding programs, with over a hundred universities already joining Google's AI education system. This is a significant implementation of Google's $1 billion AI education plan announced in August of this year.
