Gao Yingzhong, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Zhejiang Province, introduced that the "14th Five-Year Plan" is a milestone in the development of the science and technology industry in Zhejiang. Zhejiang's regional innovation capability has maintained fourth place in the country for four consecutive years, with research and development intensity increasing from 2.77% in 2020 to 3.22% in 2024, reaching a new high. The total social investment in research and development has grown from 185.99 billion yuan in 2020 to 290.14 billion yuan in 2024, an increase of 56%. In 2024, the province's fiscal expenditure on science and technology reached 88.651 billion yuan, ranking first in the country, providing strong technological support for the province as it takes on the responsibility of being a leading economic province, and laying a solid foundation for high-quality development in the "15th Five-Year Plan" period.
