Preliminary calculations show that the marine gross domestic product in the first three quarters reached 7.9 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.6% compared to the same period last year. "In the first three quarters, the cornerstone role of the traditional marine industry has been steadily fulfilled," the official mentioned. The overall development of the marine shipbuilding industry has been stable, with the completion and holding orders of marine vessels in the first three quarters increasing by 6.7% and 25.7% respectively compared to the same period last year. The new orders, completed tonnage, and holding orders account for 63.5%, 47.3%, and 58.6% of the world market respectively, maintaining a leading position globally. The continuous improvement in the technology innovation and supply capability of green ship products has led to China's international market share of new green ship orders reaching 70.6%.
