Ministry of Natural Resources: The GDP of the marine industry in the first three quarters increased by 5.6% year on year.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, the marine economy has maintained a steady and positive trend in the first three quarters. Preliminary calculations show that the marine GDP in the first three quarters reached 7.9 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%. The approved area of sea use and islands in the country was 262,000 hectares, a year-on-year increase of 19.2%, with investments totaling 641.9 billion yuan. The production of marine crude oil and natural gas increased by 3.0% and 17.7% respectively, while the newly added grid-connected capacity of offshore wind power increased by 42.1% year-on-year. The national output of marine aquatic products increased by 4.8% year-on-year. The delivery of marine engineering equipment orders and handheld orders increased by 13.6% and 7.0% respectively. The person in charge of the Marine Strategy Planning and Economic Division of the Ministry of Natural Resources stated that in the next stage, efforts will be made to accelerate marine scientific and technological innovation and industrial upgrading, vigorously cultivate new marine productive forces, promote new achievements in the high-quality development of China's marine economy, and contribute to the construction of a maritime power.
