A thousand-year-old French monastery caught fire, the main building was destroyed by the fire.
A nearly thousand-year-old monastery in the Ardennes province in northeastern France caught fire on the morning of November 2nd. Firefighters were able to control the flames in the afternoon, but the main building of the monastery unfortunately burned down. The monastery, named "Le Mondey," is located in a remote area in the Ardennes forest. The mayor of the village of Tannay-Le Mondey, Mr. Frpon, said that passersby saw smoke coming from the monastery on the morning of the 2nd and immediately called the fire department. "This building used a lot of wood. Now the roof is gone, the floor is burnt, and only rubble remains."
