The supply chain reported that Samsung Electronics has taken the lead in temporarily suspending DDR5 DRAM contract quotations for October, leading SK Hynix and Micron, among other memory manufacturers, to follow suit. This will result in a "cut-off" in the supply chain, with the expected time for resuming quotations likely being delayed until mid-November. Although the consensus in the market was that contract prices for memory would rise in the fourth quarter, it was previously expected that prices would be finalized by the end of October. However, Samsung has been unwilling to provide contract quotations, directly informing downstream customers that they have "no goods to sell," causing prices for DDR5 spot prices to soar by 25% in just one week.
