JPMorgan Chase CEO rejects remote work petition from 2000 employees.
Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, reiterated his opposition to remote work this week, rejecting the demands of 2000 employees for a hybrid office arrangement. He believes that face-to-face collaboration is still crucial for professional development. "I'm not making fun of Zoom, but young people are being left behind," Dimon said at the meeting. "If you look back at your career, you will find that you learned something from apprenticeship. You went on sales visits with others, or someone taught you how to handle mistakes. None of that happens when you're using Zoom in the basement." The petition, which accumulated over 2000 signatures by 2025, was delivered to Dimon's desk, calling the bank's decision to end hybrid work a "huge step backward", damaging the "reputation of employees, clients, shareholders, and the company." JPMorgan Chase canceled its hybrid work model in January 2025, requiring its global workforce of over 300,000 employees to return to the office five days a week by March.
