Hainan's offshore duty-free "upgraded" policy will be implemented starting today.
To support the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, the Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Administration of Taxation jointly issued a notice today to adjust and upgrade the duty-free shopping policy for departing passengers in Hainan. There are many highlights in the policy, such as increasing the number of duty-free goods for departure to 47 categories, and adding domestic goods as well. There are also new requirements for shopping by residents on the island.
