China's six important agricultural cultural heritages have been awarded a certificate by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization.
On October 31st, the global important agricultural cultural heritage recognition ceremony hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations was held in the capital of Italy, Rome. This event is one of the 80th anniversary activities of the Food and Agriculture Organization, focusing on the centralized recognition and exchange of new global important agricultural cultural heritage since 2023. A total of 28 government, enterprise, and farmer representatives from 14 countries participated in this event. Six Chinese heritages were recognized by the Food and Agriculture Organization, including the traditional chestnut cultivation system in Kuancheng, Hebei, the white ginger planting system in Tongling, Anhui, the ancient yangmei group composite breeding system in Xianju, Zhejiang, the ancient pear orchard system in Shichuan, Gaolan, Gansu, the freshwater pearl composite breeding system in Deqing, Zhejiang, and the white tea culture system in Fuding, Fujian. As of now, there are a total of 102 global important agricultural cultural heritages, with China leading the world with 25 heritages.
