The 10-year UK bond yield fell at least 29 basis points in October.
At the end of the European market on Friday, the yield on the UK 10-year government bond fell by 1.6 basis points to 4.407%, with a cumulative decrease of 29.0 basis points in October. Between October 1st and 9th, it remained roughly flat at around 4.7%, then continued to decline from the 10th to the 22nd, hitting a low of 4.369%, and has since continued to fluctuate at a low level. The yield on the 2-year UK bond dropped by 2.9 basis points to 3.767%, with a cumulative decrease of 21.8 basis points in October. Between October 1st and 10th, it remained around the psychological level of 4%, then continued to decline from the 11th to the 22nd, stabilizing around 3.8% thereafter. The yield on the 30-year UK bond has fallen by 32.8 basis points to 5.178%, while the 50-year UK bond yield has fallen by 24.5 basis points to 4.645%. The spread between the 2-year and 10-year UK bond yields has decreased by 7.442 basis points to +63.782 basis points.
