National Marine Integrated Experimental Field Demand and Development Suggestions Symposium Held

According to the official WeChat account of the Ministry of Natural Resources, on October 30th, a symposium on the demand and development suggestions for the National Comprehensive Ocean Experimental Field was held in Beijing. Chinese Academy of Engineering academicians Wu Yousheng and Jiang Xingwei, as well as delegates in attendance, discussed the coordinated construction and shared use of the experimental field. Sun Shuxian, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Director of the National Oceanic Administration, attended and delivered a speech. Regarding the future development of the experimental field, Sun Shuxian proposed four suggestions: firstly, to strengthen overall coordination, balancing industry and technology, development and security, multiple disciplines and fields, and promoting efficient and intensive use of sea resources; secondly, to improve the system, study and establish mechanisms for the management, evaluation, entry, and exit of the experimental field, and accelerate the construction of a collaborative and efficient operating management system; thirdly, to explore multiple mechanisms and optimize resource sharing; and fourthly, to take multiple measures to accelerate the improvement of the experimental field's capabilities and strive to create a world-class comprehensive ocean experimental field that is standardized, fully functional, professional, efficient, environmentally friendly, and intelligent.
