The financial news app Zhitong learned that the National Development and Reform Commission and five other departments have issued the "Action Plan for Deepening the Development of Smart Cities and Promoting Comprehensive Digital Transformation". The "Action Plan" proposes that by the end of 2027, significant progress will have been made in empowering cities' economic and social development with data, "efficiently managing a matter" covering key events in urban operations, "efficiently completing a matter" covering high-frequency people's livelihood issues, and the digital economy becoming a new driving force for urban development. Breakthrough progress will be made in key areas and critical links such as smart and efficient governance in cities, convenient and inclusive services, and digital updates in cities, with the aim of establishing more than 50 cities undergoing comprehensive digital transformation. Large and super large cities will take the lead in establishing new systems for smart and efficient governance, and a number of advanced and usable, self-developed and controllable city models will be implemented. By 2035, a group of modern cities with international competitiveness and global influence will emerge.
