Amazon's third-quarter financial report exceeded expectations, with a 12% surge in after-hours trading of US stocks. The report showed that Amazon's EPS in the previous quarter was $1.95, higher than the Wall Street consensus of $1.57. This earnings included investment profits from the artificial intelligence startup Anthropic; quarterly revenue reached $180.2 billion, surpassing analysts' expectations of $177.9 billion. The highly anticipated cloud computing division AWS had revenue of $33 billion, higher than market expectations of $32.5 billion. Amazon expects revenue for the current quarter to be between $206 billion and $213 billion, with the market average expectation being $208.4 billion. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said, "There is sustained strong demand in the artificial intelligence and core infrastructure sectors, and the company is focused on accelerating capacity expansion."
