Ministry of Commerce: Encouraging industries and enterprises with conditions to establish a database of industry carbon footprint factors.

The Ministry of Commerce released the implementation opinions on expanding green trade. The opinions propose accelerating the construction of a carbon footprint database for foreign trade products. Speed up the construction of a national carbon footprint factor database, release and continuously update the carbon footprint factor data for electricity, promote research on carbon footprint factors for other basic energy and raw materials, and provide a basis for foreign trade enterprises to calculate product carbon footprints. Encourage qualified industries and enterprises to construct industry-specific carbon footprint factor databases. Encourage international carbon footprint database suppliers to cooperate with Chinese carbon footprint database suppliers.
