Ministry of Finance and other five departments: further expand the variety of duty-free shops and enrich the shopping choices for travelers.
The Ministry of Finance and four other departments issued a notice on improving the duty-free shop policy to support boosting consumption, further expanding the categories of goods sold in outbound duty-free shops, inbound duty-free shops, and downtown duty-free shops to include new items such as mobile phones, mini-drones, sporting goods, health foods, over-the-counter medicines, and pet food. They will integrate and optimize the list of categories of goods sold in outbound duty-free shops, inbound duty-free shops, and downtown duty-free shops. The specific categories of goods sold in these three types of duty-free shops can be found in the attachment. The relevant departments will optimize the supervision of imported duty-free goods according to the actual situation, accelerate the shelving process of overseas best-selling products in duty-free shops in China. They will support relevant enterprises in continuously improving their bargaining ability and operational level, encourage the introduction of more international brands and new products into duty-free shops in China through joint procurement and other methods, in order to expand the variety of goods sold in duty-free shops.
