The Ministry of Finance and four other departments have issued a notice on improving the duty-free store policy to support and boost consumption. It mentions further expanding the categories of goods sold at port exit duty-free shops, port entry duty-free shops, and downtown duty-free shops, including adding mobile phones, mini drones, sports equipment, health foods, over-the-counter drugs, and pet foods. The notice also includes integrating and optimizing the lists of goods sold at port exit duty-free shops, port entry duty-free shops, and downtown duty-free shops. The relevant departments will optimize the supervision of imported duty-free goods according to the actual situation, and speed up the on-shelf process of popular overseas products in duty-free shops in China. The notice also supports relevant companies in continuously improving their negotiation capabilities and operational levels, and encourages attracting more international brands to introduce the latest and popular products into duty-free shops in China through joint procurement and other means, expanding the actual variety of products sold in duty-free shops.
