Russian President's Press Secretary Peskov said in an interview with the media on the 26th that the new sanctions imposed by the United States and Europe on Russia have complicated the restoration of relations between Russia and the United States. U.S. Treasury Secretary Mnuchin announced on the 22nd that the U.S. was imposing sanctions on Russia's two largest oil companies and urged Russia and Ukraine to immediately cease fire. The EU Council issued a statement on the 23rd officially approving the 19th round of sanctions against Russia, which include 69 new individual sanctions and several economic restrictions, primarily targeting Russia's energy, financial, and military sectors.
