State Council Taiwan Affairs Office responds to the election of the Chairman of the Kuomintang and introduces the exchange plan between the two parties.

On October 22, the Taiwan Affairs Office held a regular press conference. Spokesperson Zhu Fenglian stated that on October 19, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping, congratulated Ms. Zheng Liwen on being elected as the chairwoman of the Kuomintang. Ms. Zheng Liwen replied to General Secretary Xi Jinping on the same day to express her gratitude. General Secretary Xi Jinping's congratulatory message has provided guidance for the development of the relationship between the two parties and across the Taiwan Strait.
