On the news front, on November 3, the European Commission conditionally approved JD.com's acquisition of German consumer electronics retailer Ceconomy under the Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR). The deal was announced in July 2025, with JD.com making a cash offer of EUR4.6 per share to all Ceconomy shareholders, valuing Ceconomy's equity at approximately EUR2.2 billion based on the offer price.
It is worth noting that since 2025, JD.com has continued to increase its bet on the European market. Last April, JD.com announced the launch of international and outbound brand recruitment for maternal and baby products and toys categories in its European online retail business. In March 2026, JD.com launched its online retail brand Joybuy in Europe to further expand its retail and logistics supply chain presence in the European market, having previously launched in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Belgium and Luxembourg. In addition, JD Logistics' proprietary express delivery brand JoyExpress will replicate JD.com's "211" speed in the European market.
