Citing informed sources, the report said that Shanghai-listed optical communications testing equipment company Semight Instruments (688808.SH) has selected CITIC SEC, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan to assist in preparing for its Hong Kong listing, expected next year, to raise more than US$1 billion (over HK$7.8 billion). Semight Instruments announced in October that it plans to issue H shares and list on the Hong Kong Main Board, hoping to further deepen the company's global strategic layout, enhance its international brand image, strengthen overseas financing capabilities, optimize its capital structure, and improve its core competitiveness.
Semight Instruments was founded in 2017 and is based in Suzhou, focusing on the R&D and manufacturing of test instruments and equipment in fields such as high-speed communications, electrical performance, optical chips, and power chips. The company listed on the Shanghai STAR Market in April this year.
In October, Semight Instruments issued an announcement stating that the company expects to achieve net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company of RMB1.9 billion to RMB2.1 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, an increase of 1,866% to 2,072.95% compared with the same period last year.
During the reporting period, benefiting from the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology and the continued increase in global computing power demand, data center construction has accelerated, and market demand in the high-speed optical communications sector has maintained relatively rapid growth, driving optical module and optical chip manufacturers to continue expanding production, further promoting sales growth of the company's communications test instrument products and optoelectronic device test equipment. As the company's business scale expanded, operating revenue increased year on year, driving substantial year-on-year growth in the company's net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company and net profit after deducting non-recurring gains and losses compared with the same period last year.
