On October 23, HKEX launched its first artificial intelligence index. The HKEX AI Index tracks the performance of 40 Hong Kong-listed companies highly relevant to the AI industry chain, covering five major areas: chip design, data centers, AI infrastructure, AI models, and software and physical applications. The first batch of 40 constituent stocks includes Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (00981) in the computing hardware segment, Z.AI (02513) in the AI large model segment, GDS-SW (09698) in the AI infrastructure segment, and METIS TECHBIO-P (07666) in the AI pharmaceutical sector. Currently, Metis TechBio has established a full chain spanning AI molecular design, RNA code optimization, precision LNP delivery, and precision clinical translation. As a core company in the global AI nano-delivery sector, its inclusion is expected to attract passive fund allocation from index trackers, while also placing it at the center of global investors' vision for allocating to Hong Kong's core AI assets. In addition, Metis TechBio recently announced a collaboration with global pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly on the world's largest AI-driven extrahepatic LNP delivery platform deal. In this major strategic collaboration with a total value of up to US$1.1 billion, the two parties will focus on the research and discovery of novel LNP (lipid nanoparticle) delivery solutions. With the positive news and the catalyst of a major commercialization order, Metis TechBio's share price has continued to strengthen recently, rising more than 10% over the past five days. Market analysis believes that Metis TechBio's first-mover advantage in the AI drug delivery field and its platform-based monetization potential have not yet been fully priced in. As demand for index fund allocation is gradually released and its self-developed Biological AI key infrastructure NanoForge platform continues to iterate, Metis TechBio is expected to be among the first to achieve a valuation recovery.
