MOFCOM Spokesperson Answers Questions on the U.S. Adding Chinese Companies to the So-Called Entity List Under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act
On October 29, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce answered questions on the U.S. adding Chinese companies to the so-called entity list under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act. The spokesperson stated that forced labor does not exist in China. People of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang enjoy freedom and equality in employment, and their labor rights and interests are effectively protected in accordance with the law. The relevant U.S. measures have no factual basis. The U.S. side has continued to manipulate the "human rights" issue and, under the pretext of "human rights," practiced unilateral protectionism and bullying. China strongly condemns and firmly opposes this.

MOFCOM Spokesperson Answers Questions on the U.S. Adding Chinese Companies to the So-Called Entity List Under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act
Q: On October 28 U.S. Eastern Time, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced the addition of 3 Chinese entities to the entity list under the "Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act." What is China's comment?
A: We have noted the relevant situation. Forced labor does not exist in China.
Not long ago, the U.S. side added a large number of Chinese entities to the so-called entity list under the Uyghur Act. China has made solemn representations to the U.S. side and resolutely taken countermeasures. However, the U.S. side has refused to correct its mistakes and, disregarding China's firm opposition, continued to impose new sanctions measures and added Chinese biopharmaceutical technology companies to the sanctions list. The U.S. practice of adding entities to lists runs counter to the consensus reached by the two heads of state, seriously undermines the stability of China-U.S. economic and trade relations, and also violates the humanitarian spirit. The U.S. side should immediately stop political manipulation and smear attacks, and stop its unreasonable suppression of Chinese companies. China will take necessary measures to firmly safeguard its own interests.
