German President Experiences Volkswagen's Latest Intelligent Driving Technology; Horizon Robotics (09660) Volkswagen Collaboration Achieves High-Level Attention

On October 27, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife, who are on a state visit to China, visited Volkswagen (China) Technology Co., Ltd. in Hefei, Anhui. During the visit, Dr. Yu Kai, founder and CEO of Horizon Robotics (09660), attended and delivered remarks, briefing the presidential delegation on the progress of Horizon Robotics' collaboration with Volkswagen in the intelligent driving field. At the event, the presidential couple personally experienced two Volkswagen models the FAW-Volkswagen ID. AURA T6 and the SAIC Volkswagen ID. ERA 5X both equipped with a full-scenario assisted driving solution developed by CARIZON, the joint venture between Volkswagen and Horizon Robotics, and deeply powered by Horizon Robotics' Journey 6H chip and HSD AI foundation model, allowing the presidential delegation to experience firsthand the intelligent driving achievements of Sino-German collaborative innovation. From joint R&D to large-scale mass production, from complementary strengths to mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, Horizon Robotics will continue to work with Volkswagen to deeply integrate China's AI innovation vitality with Germany's automotive industry heritage, set a benchmark for Sino-German automotive industry innovation cooperation, and jointly contribute to the global transformation toward intelligent vehicles. Horizon Robotics and Volkswagen Group established a strategic partnership in 2022 and founded the joint venture CARIZON in 2023. Since 2026, the collaboration between the two parties has entered a mass-production harvest period: since the third quarter of this year, CARIZON's full-scenario advanced driver assistance solution has been progressively deployed on seven all-new electrified models across Volkswagen Group's three joint ventures in China; in July, the two parties further announced deepened cooperation in the field of AI foundation models, accelerating their march toward L3 and L4 autonomous driving.
