CHINAGOLDINTL (02099) announced that the Company's Changshanhao Gold Mine (Changshanhao Mine) has resumed mining operations and reiterated the annual production guidance for the Changshanhao Mine.
As disclosed in the Company's announcements published on May 27, 2026 and August 17, 2026, respectively, a localized slope instability incident occurred at the Changshanhao Mine on May 22, 2026. The incident caused no casualties or equipment damage. To ensure safety, the Changshanhao Mine suspended open-pit mining operations, while the ore processing operations continued to operate using existing low-grade stockpiled ore. Subsequently, the Company engaged external geotechnical engineering experts and professional institutions to carry out geotechnical assessments and design remediation plans.
At the end of September 2026, the Changshanhao Mine completed the key phased remediation works required to resume mining operations. Such works included restoring the pit road system, completing the clearing of loose material and hazardous rock masses and the reinforcement of the landslide body, and installing interception and drainage systems. During this period, slope monitoring was continuously carried out.
Following an assessment of the effectiveness of the hazard remediation conducted by a commissioned third-party professional institution, the slope geological hazard risks affecting mining operations have been rectified, and the safety baseline required by laws and regulations for resuming normal mining operations has been met. After filing with the emergency management department, mining operations resumed as planned in early October 2026.
During the suspension of open-pit mining, the Changshanhao Mine continued to process existing low-grade stockpiled ore, which helped mitigate the impact on gold production. With the full resumption of open-pit mining, the Changshanhao Mine will continue to implement safety risk control measures and optimize the blending of newly mined ore with stockpiled ore to maintain a stable ore supply volume and processing grade, supporting flexible and efficient production scheduling for the remainder of the year.
Based on the completion of the key phased remediation works and the resumption of open-pit mining operations, the Company is confident in maintaining a stable production trajectory. The Company will continue to closely monitor the on-site operating conditions and subsequent engineering progress of the Changshanhao Mine and will provide further updates in due course.
