On Wednesday, SpaceX (SPCX.US) surged over 10% to $163.18. On the news front, Musk's SpaceX delivered standout results that crushed Wall Street expectations. SpaceX reported that for the third quarter of 2026 ended September, revenue rose 161% year-over-year to $14.58 billion, more than 10% above analysts' expectations of about $12.8 billion; net profit was about $4.4 billion, 2.3 times analysts' forecast of $1.88 billion; adjusted EBITDA surged 306% year-over-year to $8.81 billion, more than 30% above expectations. On the conference call, Musk revealed that the boards of SpaceX and Tesla, Inc. have established a special committee to discuss a merger. He stressed that a merger has many advantages, but made clear it is not yet decided and still requires shareholder support. SpaceX's growth this quarter was mainly DRIVE by the superintelligence business, which generated $7.56 billion in revenue, up about 830% year-over-year, accounting for about 52% of total revenue and becoming the company's largest revenue source for the first time. Breaking it down, the connectivity business centered on Starlink contributed $2.367 billion in operating profit and remains the company's profit ballast. The AI business swung from an operating loss of $1.257 billion in the second quarter to a profit of $431 million, becoming the biggest variable driving the group's performance turnaround. At the same time, the space launch business also sharply narrowed its operating loss to $7 million, approaching the break-even line.
