AI agent security risks raise concerns; JPMorgan CEO Dimon: Anthropic's Mythos could amplify cyber threats by about 10 times.
JPMorgan CEO Dimon said in an interview that Anthropic's Mythos AI model could increase global cybersecurity risks by about 10 times.
JPMorgan (JPM.US) CEO Jamie Dimon said in an interview that Anthropic's Mythos AI model could increase global cybersecurity risks by about 10 times, and warned that with the rapid development of technologies such as AI agents, companies are facing new types of security vulnerabilities that did not exist in the past.
Dimon said that even before the rapid rise of generative AI, cybersecurity was already a long-standing major risk for companies, and the emergence of AI has created vulnerabilities that were previously unknown. He noted that AI agents and technologies such as Mythos could be used to cause destruction, and the resulting security risks are not a theoretical concern but a real and present danger.
It is worth noting that despite Dimon's warnings about the cybersecurity risks brought by AI, JPMorgan itself remains one of the most aggressive deployers of AI technology in the banking industry. According to the 2026 Evident AI Index, JPMorgan ranked as the world's most advanced bank in AI adoption for the fifth consecutive year, with First Capital, Inc. credit (COF.US) and Royal Bank of Canada (RY.US) following closely behind.
Speaking about the data center construction driven by the AI boom, Dimon said data centers should be built in areas that can gain support from local communities. He pointed out that many U.S. states have ample power supply and are willing to accept data center projects. As demand for AI model training and inference grows rapidly, power supply and local community acceptance of large data center construction are becoming important factors that the industry must consider for expansion.
Meanwhile, Anthropic is accelerating its listing plans. According to previous reports, the company could launch an IPO as early as mid-November and is seeking to list on U.S. stock markets before Thanksgiving on November 26, with a possible completion by the end of this year at the latest. Market sources indicate that Anthropic's potential valuation could reach $1.8 trillion to $2 trillion, though the specific valuation and offering size have not yet been finalized. The company also plans to hold a meeting with potential investors on October 14 to prepare for the IPO.
