On the news front, on September 29, U.S. telecom operator AT&T and Corning Inc announced that the two parties reached a multi-year cooperation agreement valued at over $3 billion. Under the agreement, Corning Inc will supply AT&T with optical fiber and Optical Cable Corporation needed for network expansion to support high-speed internet service in covering more U.S. users. AT&T said the company plans to invest more than $250 billion over the next five years to strengthen U.S. communications infrastructure construction.
