CHINA CHENGTONG (00217) enters into a sale and leaseback agreement with China Xiongan Group Urban Development Investment
China Chengtong Development Group (00217) announced that on September 29, 2026, Chengtong Financial Leasing (an indirectly wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company) entered into a sale and leaseback agreement with the lessee, China Xiongan Group Urban Development Investment Co., Ltd., pursuant to which Chengtong Financial Leasing will purchase the leased assets from the lessee and lease the leased assets back to the lessee for a lease term of five years, subject to early termination in accordance with the terms and conditions of the sale and leaseback agreement.
CHINA CHENGTONG (00217) announces that on September 29, 2026, Chengtong Financial Leasing (an indirectly wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company) entered into a sale and leaseback agreement with the lessee, China Xiongan Group Urban Development Investment Co., Ltd., pursuant to which Chengtong Financial Leasing will purchase the leased assets from the lessee and lease the leased assets back to the lessee for a lease term of five years, subject to early termination in accordance with the terms and conditions of the sale and leaseback agreement.
The leased assets refer to equipment such as generator sets, distribution cabinets, centrifugal fans, and switchgear units.
The purchase price of the leased assets was agreed between Chengtong Financial Leasing and the lessee after reference to the appraised value of the leased assets as at September 15, 2026, assessed by the valuer using the cost method, of approximately RMB187 million (equivalent to approximately HK$217 million).
As at the date of this announcement, the Group is principally engaged in leasing, property development and investment, marine tourism services, and hotel businesses. The Group's leasing business is principally conducted through Chengtong Financial Leasing (as its principal business).
The sale and leaseback arrangement was entered into in the ordinary and usual course of business of Chengtong Financial Leasing, and Chengtong Financial Leasing is expected to earn revenue of approximately RMB22.76 million (equivalent to approximately HK$26.4 million), being the lease interest in respect of the sale and leaseback arrangement.
