During the National Day Golden Week on the mainland this year (October 1 to 7), the Hong Kong Immigration Department estimates that about 7.44 million passenger trips (including Hong Kong residents and visitors) will enter and leave Hong Kong through various sea, land and air control points. After consultation with the Shenzhen General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection (the frontier inspection general station) and other mainland authorities, the Immigration Department estimates that about 6.31 million passenger trips will enter and leave Hong Kong through various land boundary control points.
The Hong Kong Immigration Department estimates that the peak period for land departures will be October 3 (Saturday), with about 587,000 departures, while the peak period for arrivals will be October 4 (Sunday), with about 586,000 arrivals. It is estimated that during the holiday period, the Lo Wu Control Point, the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point and the Shenzhen Bay Control Point will be very busy, with an estimated daily average of about 220,000, 190,000 and 150,000 passenger trips respectively.
