On Monday, Novo Nordisk A/S Sponsored ADR Class B (NVO.US) opened lower and drifted down, falling more than 8% as of press time. On the news front, on September 21, Novo Nordisk A/S Sponsored ADR Class B held a "Capital Markets Day" (CMD) in London, pledging to launch more than five blockbuster drugs in the coming years and achieve more than $23 billion in incremental sales. However, its $23 billion target sales figure appears to fall short of market expectations. Over the past year, the company has cut 13,000 jobs to continuously reduce costs. Whether the core investigational drug CagriSema can ultimately deliver commercial value and whether a new growth curve can be established remain key focuses for the capital markets going forward. Meanwhile, in the United States, according to media reports, dozens of patients were diagnosed with non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION, commonly known as "eye stroke," which can cause sudden, permanent monocular vision loss) while taking Novo Nordisk A/S Sponsored ADR Class B's semaglutide, and have filed personal injury lawsuits against the manufacturer. Since 2025, personal injury law firm Weitz & Luxenberg has filed more than 90 NAION claims on behalf of patients in New Jersey state court. These patients developed NAION while taking semaglutide and are seeking compensation from Novo Nordisk A/S Sponsored ADR Class B.
