On the news front, Guozheng International noted in a recent research report that in March 2026, China's National Medical Products Administration accepted the New Drug Application for HTD1801 for the treatment of T2DM. In June 2026, Phase III data of HTD1801 combined with metformin were published in NEJM Evidence. Meanwhile, HighTide Therapeutics also presented clinical research results of HTD1801 at multiple international conferences, demonstrating the efficacy and safety of HTD1801 in treating T2DM. While awaiting approval, the company is actively exploring commercialization pathways and seeking partners in China with strong commercialization networks and expertise in the T2DM field.
The bank also stated that in July 2026, China released the "Expert Consensus on the Assessment, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic Syndrome," which for the first time established the Chinese definition of the "metabolic-cardiovascular-kidney-liver" four-axis and the 04 stage criteria, and incorporated MASLD into the key complication pathway. This aligns highly with HTD1801's multi-effect profile (lowering blood sugar, lowering lipids, protecting kidneys, and protecting the liver). Therefore, the bank believes HTD1801 has good development potential in the future.
