Reports indicate that Alphabet stated this investment will be used over the next two years to build at least three new data centers and expand its existing facilities in Hamina, a city in southeastern Finland. Ruth Porat, Alphabets Chief Investment Officer, stated, "Alphabet Inc. Class C is proud to further deepen its footprint in Finland, representing the company's largest single investment in Europe."
This investment is part of Alphabet's overall strategy to accelerate the expansion of AI computing power. According to previous reports, Alphabet raised its expected capital expenditures for the year to a maximum of $205 billion in July to further solidify its leading position in the AI race.
