Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Launch 6G commercial services at the right time, and build a new generation of communication networks with leading performance by 2030.

On September 7, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a notice regarding the printing of the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Information and Communication Industry." It mentioned that by 2030, a comprehensive, well-covered, and performance-leading new generation communication network will be fully built, accelerating the formation of a technologically advanced and secure information and communication industry system. An effective governance system for the information and communication industry, combining technology and management, will be established to create network and data security capabilities that are responsive, practical, and comprehensive. The level of industry empowerment and the level of globalization will be further enhanced, taking solid steps toward the modernization of the information and communication industry, laying a firm foundation for the basic realization of this modernization by 2035. We will promote the evolution of networks in urban and hotspot areas towards "dual 10-gigabit" capabilities. Deepening the in-depth coverage of 5G networks in key scenarios, we will advance the continuous coverage of 5G Evolution (5G-A) networks in urban areas at the county level and above, extending to key townships, so that urban hotspot areas can achieve peak rates of 10 Gbps downlink and 1 Gbps uplink. The commercial launch of 6G will be initiated in due course. We will actively carry out pilot projects for 10-gigabit optical networks and gradually expand the coverage of such networks. The "Signal Upgrade" special action will be continuously implemented to enhance end-to-end business perception. We will promote wide-area coverage of mobile IoT and enhance intelligent connectivity capabilities. We will deepen technological innovation and integrated applications of Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) and orderly advance the deployment of IPv6 single-stack technology.
