On August 20, Hong Kong dollar interbank rates continued to rise across the board, with the one-month Hong Kong Interbank Offered Rate (HIBOR) reporting at 2.68%, up 5.345 basis points; the three-month HIBOR, which reflects the cost of bank funding, was reported at 2.94452%, up 0.803 basis points.
The overnight rate was at 2.8919%, up 36.869 basis points; the one-week rate rose by 21.333 basis points to 2.73113%, while the two-week rate increased by 17.137 basis points to 2.71619%. The two-month rate was reported at 2.8372%, up 0.071 basis points.
Regarding long-term rates, the six-month HIBOR showed no change, remaining at 3.2%, and the one-year rate remained unchanged at 3.5%.
