By the close, the Shanghai Composite Index was up 1.41% at 3982.65 points, the Shenzhen Component Index rose 2.44% to 14704.27 points, the ChiNext Index climbed 3.14% to 3740.16 points, and the STAR 50 Index increased 4.14% to 1788.85 points, leading the major indices. The BSE 50 Index was up 1.91% at 1108.28 points. The total trading volume on the Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges was 238.74 billion yuan, an increase of about 24.46 billion yuan compared to the previous trading day. In the market, 4,335 stocks rose, 1,064 stocks fell, 110 stocks hit the daily limit up, and only 1 stock hit the daily limit down, resulting in a profit ratio of about 78%. In terms of sectors, electronic chemicals, semiconductors, communication equipment, other electronics, agriculture, and rubber saw the highest gains; while sectors like liquor, gaming, film and television, coal, and media experienced the largest declines.
