Ministry of Commerce: Foreign companies have filed a Section 337 investigation request concerning specific secondary cylindrical batteries, battery components, and products containing these components.
LG Energy Solution Ltd. of South Korea and LG Energy Solution Arizona, Inc. of the United States have filed a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, alleging that certain secondary cylindrical batteries, components thereof, and products containing the same exported to the U.S., imported into the U.S., or sold in the U.S. infringe their patent rights.
On July 21, 2026, South Korea's LG Energy Solution Ltd. and the U.S.'s LG Energy Solution Arizona, Inc. filed a petition with the U.S. International Trade Commission under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, alleging that certain secondary cylindrical batteries, components thereof, and products containing the same exported to the U.S., imported into the U.S., or sold in the U.S. infringe their patent rights, and requesting the initiation of a 337 investigation and the issuance of a limited exclusion order and a cease and desist order. Among those involved are three Chinese companies.
