On July 31, the Ministry of Finance announced the economic operation of state-owned and state-controlled enterprises (referred to as state-owned enterprises) in China for the first half of 2026. From January to June, the total operating revenue of state-owned and state-controlled enterprises decreased by 2.0% year-on-year, while the total profit increased by 2.4% year-on-year. Specifically, in the first half of the year, the total operating revenue of state-owned enterprises was 40,242.7 billion yuan, a decrease of 2.0% compared to the same period last year; the total profit was 2,247.58 billion yuan, an increase of 2.4% year-on-year. Regarding taxes payable, from January to June, state-owned enterprises had taxes payable of 3,187.47 billion yuan, an increase of 5.7% year-on-year. By the end of June, the debt-to-asset ratio of state-owned enterprises was 65.6%, an increase of 0.5 percentage points year-on-year.
