In June 2026, the total trading volume in China's foreign exchange market (excluding the foreign currency pair market, the same below) reached 28.00 trillion yuan (equivalent to 4.11 trillion US dollars).
On July 31, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange announced the trading summary data of the Chinese foreign exchange market for June 2026. The data shows that in June 2026, the total transaction volume in the Chinese foreign exchange market (excluding the foreign currency pair market) reached 28.00 trillion yuan (equivalent to 4.11 trillion US dollars). Among this, the bank-to-client market accounted for 5.18 trillion yuan (equivalent to 0.76 trillion US dollars), and the interbank market reached 22.81 trillion yuan (equivalent to 3.35 trillion US dollars); the spot market totaled 10.31 trillion yuan (equivalent to 1.51 trillion US dollars), while the derivatives market amounted to 17.68 trillion yuan (equivalent to 2.59 trillion US dollars). From January to June 2026, the cumulative transaction volume of the Chinese foreign exchange market was 152.21 trillion yuan (equivalent to 22.08 trillion US dollars).
