On June 24, the National Energy Administration released the data on the national electric vehicle charging facilities for May 2026. According to the data from the National Charging Facility Monitoring Service Platform, as of the end of May 2026, the total number of electric vehicle charging infrastructure (plug) in China reached 22.497 million, an increase of 44.9% compared to the same period last year. Among them, there were 4.951 million public charging facilities (plug), an increase of 25.9% year-on-year, with a total rated power of 242 million kilowatts, and an average power of about 48.89 kilowatts per plug; there were 17.546 million private charging facilities (plug), an increase of 51.4% year-on-year, with a total installed electricity capacity of 151 million kilovolt-amperes. The average power of each plug is about 48.89 kilowatts, an increase of 8.9% year-on-year, maintaining a steady growth trend this year with the rapid improvement of the station's fast charging service capacity. The number of private charging facilities (plug) has been growing at a rate of over 50% this year, with rapid development of household charging facilities.
