The Hong Kong government announced the reappointment of 57 members of the Chief Executive's Policy Address Advisory Group, as well as the appointment of four new members. The term of office will take effect from May 30, 2026, and will end on June 30, 2027.
The Hong Kong government announced today (May 28) the reappointment of 57 members of the Chief Executive's Policy Committee and the appointment of four new members. The term of office will be effective from May 30, 2026, to June 30, 2027. Dr. Anthony Wong, Chairman of the Chief Executive's Policy Committee, thanked the members of the expert group for their active advice and selfless sharing of professional knowledge and research results in their respective fields, providing important references for the policy research work of the Chief Executive's Policy Committee. He expressed his gratitude to the outgoing members for their contributions during their tenure and welcomed the new members to join the expert group, hoping to gather more wisdom and work together to promote policy research and development. Dr. Anthony Wong stated, "The Chief Executive's Policy Committee and members of the expert group have continued to communicate in a diversified manner over the past year. In addition to holding plenary meetings, interactions have also been promoted through seminars, group discussions, individual meetings, written exchanges, etc. Furthermore, expert group members have been invited to participate in policy seminars related to the Public Policy Research Funding Program and the Strategic Public Policy Research Funding Program to provide diverse professional perspectives and assist in translating research with local and international perspectives into important references for internal policy research. Expert group members continue to serve as external reviewers for the two policy research funding programs, assisting in reviewing research proposals and providing opinions for funding applications." Dr. Anthony Wong continued, "I look forward to maintaining close contact and cooperation with the expert group members, gathering expertise and wisdom to help the SAR government further deepen reform, improve people's livelihoods, fully leverage its strengths, and create a better future together." The Chief Executive's Policy Committee Expert Group is a consultative organization established in May 2023, composed of individuals from different backgrounds such as the business and finance sectors, professionals, think tanks, and academia. They provide professional opinions and innovative ideas to the Chief Executive's Policy Committee on various topics. To facilitate work and conduct more focused discussions, expert group members are divided into three groups: economic development, social development, and research strategy.
