On Wednesday, bank stocks rose, with Deutsche Bank Aktiengesellschaft (DB.US) up over 4%, Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (GS.US), Citigroup (C.US), Morgan Stanley (MS.US), and Barclays PLC Sponsored ADR (BCS.US) up over 3%. In terms of news, currently, the expectation of a rate cut by the Federal Reserve this year has been almost completely extinguished, while the expectation of a rate hike in the financial market is sharply increasing. Trading in the derivatives market suggests that the possibility of a rate hike by the Federal Reserve before December has reached 60%. Several analysts pointed out that the Federal Reserve must take a hawkish stance in order to stabilize the rising bond yields, otherwise the central bank will be seen as lagging behind the market situation, leading to further increases in bond yields as investors demand higher inflation risk premiums.
