Trump says military strikes against Iran should be delayed at the request of many Middle Eastern leaders.

On Monday, US President Trump stated that at the request of several Middle Eastern leaders, the US has decided to postpone the military strike against Iran that was originally scheduled for Tuesday, in order to give more time for peaceful negotiations.
Trump posted on social media that Qatar's Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had requested the US to delay the planned military strike against Iran.
He mentioned that these Middle Eastern leaders believe that peace agreement negotiations are making progress and that there is hope for a "deal that can be acceptable to the US, Middle Eastern countries, and even globally." He emphasized that any agreement must ensure that "Iran will not have nuclear weapons."
Trump also noted that he had instructed the US Secretary of Defense and military leaders to temporarily halt action. However, he warned that if an acceptable agreement cannot be reached, the US military has been instructed to be "ready to launch a full-scale, massive attack on Iran at any time."
Just hours before this announcement, Trump had expressed dissatisfaction with Tehran's latest peace proposal and said that Iran "knows what will happen next."
Previously, there were widespread concerns in the market that the US might take direct military action against Iran, which could further escalate the situation in the Middle East and have a greater impact on the global energy market. Following the latest news, US and Brent oil prices fell sharply, while spot gold and silver prices rose rapidly. US stocks narrowed losses by the end of the day, with the Nasdaq falling by 0.51%, the S&P 500 falling by 0.07%, and the Dow rose by 0.32%.
