China will impose zero tariffs on all African countries that have diplomatic relations with China starting from May 1, 2026.
The Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council issued a notice on implementing zero tariffs for African countries that have diplomatic relations with China, in order to expand high-level opening-up to the outside world and promote common development between China and Africa. According to the relevant provisions of the Customs Law of the People's Republic of China, from May 1, 2026 to April 30, 2028, zero tariffs will be implemented for 20 African countries that have diplomatic relations with China but are not least developed countries.
