The optical communication track is currently facing capacity constraints. Lumentum CEO Michael Hurlston stated on April 10th that its advanced optical device production capacity is expected to be fully booked by the end of 2028. The company predicts that by 2030, the total potential market for AI optical communications will increase from $18 billion in 2025 to $90 billion, with a compound annual growth rate of 40%.
